Rob’s clinical and specialist training was completed at the Tavistock Clinic, London; University of Rochester, New York; The University of South Africa, Pretoria; Ackerman Institute for the Family, New York; The Milan School of Family Therapy, and the Mental Research Institute, Palo Alto. Author of more than 38 textbooks and self-help books, and 250 academic papers, Rob is regularly quoted and interviewed over a range of issues and problems.

Rob is a Fellow of the British Psychological Society, attained the world’s highest award in aviation, an Honorary Fellowship of the Royal Aeronautical Society, is a Chartered Scientist, Chartered Psychologist, has received the Freedom of the City of London, is a Winston Churchill Fellow and Honorary Psychologist to the Royal Air Force. Rob is a Consulting Psychologist to St Paul’s School, King Edward VII’s Hospital, The London Clinic, PwC and The Royal Opera House.

Experience and approach:

The hallmark of my approach is collaborative, and therapy for me starts with my listening to your issue/s and seeking to identify what help or support you want for this. I don't prescribe 'off the shelf' solutions or approaches without first understanding your experience/s and needs. I support individuals, couples, families, children, adolescents and adults facing a range of problems and challenges throughout life. I have experience of working with the full range of life's challenges and psychological problems. My main therapeutic approaches are cognitive-behavioural, systemic, solution-focused and integrative, though I also have an extensive background in psychodynamic therapy. I am registered as a Clinical, Counselling and Health Psychologist, as well as a Specialist in Aviation Psychology and as a Systemic Therapist.
