About the Therapist
Hello, I'm Rob (he/him). I'm a gay, cisgender, psychotherapist (in training) and experienced, registered mental health practitioner based in Bristol. I am passionate about supporting the LGBTQIA community, and I have an interest in working with people with trauma.
My goal is to provide you with a safe, confidential space where you can feel supported in your journey of self-exploration, allowing you to grow and develop. I believe that through therapy we can gain insight and understand ourselves better, which can be life changing.
I have extensive experience of working with people with depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, OCD, addiction, and low self-esteem. I am also dedicated to trauma informed, culturally sensitive, and ethical practice.Â
I currently have availability Monday, Wednesday, or Thursday late afternoon/early evening, either in-person or online.

I have a postgraduate diploma in psychological therapies practice, I have a master's degree in psychology, and I am currently undertaking an advanced diploma in integrative psychotherapy (at the Welsh Institute of Psychotherapy).
Added to this, I am trained in CBT-based approache and motivational interviewing - which is an approach used to explore lifestyle chang.Â

My approach to psychotherapy is relational-integrative, which means that I believe the most important part of therapy is our therapeutic relationship, serving as a way of better understanding the relationships in your life and with yourself. I also draw on a range of therapeutic approaches to help give personal meaning to your experience.
At the heart of my practice is psychodynamic psychotherapy, which considers how early relationships can influence present life, such as how we understand ourselves and our relationships with others. I also incorporate Humanistic Psychotherapy, which emphasises what is happening in the 'here-and-now' to help make sense of your experiences.
