My core training was in humanistic counselling, I started off as Person-Centred but am now more integrative as I draw skills accross from other modalities if it seems relevant for the individual. At the heart I am client centred as I am guided by what you wish to bring to the session, I am led by what is important to you as the client. Drawing in aspects of the below approaches that I am acquiring. I am further training (post grad) with CPCAB Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling (Level 5), this started in Oct '25 and finishes July '26 - this is developing my skills in recognising attachment styles, child development and developmental wounds tying in with my trauma informed understanding. This course aids development for longer term therapy, anti-oppressive practice which aligns well with my passion for ethical practice. I am learning how to notice our unconscious process, with advanced relational principles to further develop therapeutic depth within the counselling r/ship.Â
I have studied Carolyn Spring courses on being trauma informed.
I have had two years of placement experience working with adults within an autism and neurodevelopmental service.Â
