About the Therapist
People seek therapy for a wide range of reasons which are highly unique and individual. Perhaps you are looking for closure or understanding about certain events in your life, maybe you are having questions about your identity and want help to understand ‘who am I?’. Perhaps you are struggling to cope with the world or to understand your place and unique position in life, maybe you are looking for ways to cope with your anxiety, fears or low mood on a day to day basis. These questions can be triggered by certain life events such as bereavement, life changes, transitions, relationship changes, global events or they can arise just with the passing of time. Through working together, we can explore these questions and challenges in an affirmative and safe environment and help you move towards your goals, identify your current patterns and potential blockages and move towards understanding yourself more deeply.

I offer a warm but practical way of being as a therapist. My training is in integrative psychotherapy which means I study different types of therapy and have formed an approach which enables individual tailoring to your needs and therapeutic goals. At the core of my training and approach is Gestalt which focuses on awareness and what happens in the current moment (here and now). I also integrate psychodynamic therapy which looks at how our past and in particular our childhoods influence our current ways of being as well as some CBT which offers practical ways of coping with the world. I work relationally which means I place emphasis on the therapeutic relationship and what happens between us. I am particularly interested in somatic experiences and an embodied approach to therapy.
