About the Therapist
Prior to working in a Hospice, I spent 3 years with the Early Intervention in Psychosis Service within the NHS, supporting people of various ages and backgrounds to overcome and recover from significant mental ill-health and distress. This involved helping people to address all kinds of past and present traumas, anxieties and fears; to value and empower themselves; and to discover hope for their futures. My passion for supporting those who are in need stems from my own personal experience of mental health crisis, brought about by loss, lack of personal identity, drug use and a complete disconnection from the world and others. I recognise just how much the care and support I received at my lowest ebb, and during my recovery, helped me to come out the other side with an entirely new sense of belonging, self-belief and purpose.

Perhaps the most important message I would like to communicate to you is that I offer a safe and confidential remote space in which you will be heard, understood, accepted and valued. That applies to each and every person I support, regardless of life experience, gender, sexuality, race, culture, neurodiversity and disability. The approach of my training in Levels 2 and 3 in Counselling Skills, and of my 3-year Masters in Counselling and Psychotherapy, was integrative. This means that I had the opportunity to learn from a wide variety of counselling theories, and incorporated this knowledge as I developed my own unique model of practice, founded on some key personal values.Â

Before agreeing to work together, I think it is important for us to have an initial conversation to establish whether we are a good fit. This conversation can be held via zoom or phone and is free of charge. If we then agree to work with one another, sessions cost £45 each and last 50 minutes. This fee is payable prior to each session start time. You may notice that my fee is lower is than average - this is partly because working online allows me to reduce my own outgoings. Primarily however, this is because I believe wholeheartedly in the potential benefits of counselling and psychotherapy and I would like as many people as possible to have access, especially in today's challenging financial climate.
