About the Therapist
If you are living with anxiety, depression, or low self-esteem, you may find that these experiences are shaped by pressures around sexuality, gender, or relationships that go unspoken or unrecognised by those around you.
You may recognise some of the following:
- Struggling with family and cultural expectations around who you love or how you identify
- Questions about your cultural, sexual, or gender identity
- Feeling anxious under the weight of responsibility you carry
- Struggling to find your place and sense of belonging, within your family, community, or relationships
- Living a double life, caught between what you desire and what is expected of you
- Confusing or conflicting feelings about your sexuality or gender identity
These struggles are often invisible expectations you carry within yourself. They can lead to depression, isolation, anger, panic attacks, and anxiety — yet you keep finding yourself just getting on with things, even while relationships break down and you feel misunderstood by those around you.
These are not background details. They are central to who you are and how you experience the world.
I take an intersectional approach, I don't separate the personal from the political, or the individual from their context. Whether you are navigating intergenerational trauma, faith-based expectations, experiences of marginalisation because of your sexuality, gender, or relationship structure, or the pressure of being the one in your family who is expected to hold it all together, I will meet you with curiosity, care, and cultural humility.
