Taking Care Counselling
About the Therapist
Hi, I’m Rachel, a Neuro-affirming counsellor, late-diagnosed ADHD-er, LGBTQIA+ ally/parent, and Autism parent, working on a 121 basis with gender, sexual orientation, and neurodivergence such as ADHD, Autism, AuDHD, RSD, PDA; low self-esteem, depression, anxiety, identity.
I want you to feel comfortable to talk about any topic with me: if it’s important to you it is important. I firmly believe that you are your own expert and as a Person-Centred counsellor I hope to support you as you explore your own answers to enable you to bring about any changes you might be looking for.
Whatever your situation I hope to offer you professional counselling without judgement. Having been through counselling myself, I understand that counselling can be hard, sometimes uncomfortable, but it can really make a difference.
I provide both short-term and long-term Online Counselling, or face to face counselling from a rented room at GreenShed Spaces in Rainham, Kent. https://www.greenshedspaces.co.uk/
My own lived experience of neurodivergence and supporting family members exploring their own sexuality and gender has highlighted to me the importance of having a safe space to be truly heard.
I believe it is essential to tailor counselling to the needs of each individual, whether that be communication styles, sensory requirements etc to ensure a safe environment in which to explore issues.

I firmly believe that you are your own expert and as a Person-Centred counsellor I acknowledge that one size does not fit all when it comes to counselling. I approach working with clients from a stance of full acceptance and hope to support you as you explore your own answers to enable you to bring about any changes you might be looking for.
I have been working with clients since 2021, firstly through Mid-Kent MIND, then in Private Practice with individuals since March 2023, alongside providing support to students at Rose Bruford performing arts college.
I use a combination of traditional talking, reflection and exploration techniques, alongside therapeutic coaching, neuro-education, and some somatic work.
My HR background of 20+ years in Employee Relations has also provided me with experience and understanding of a range of LGBTQIA+ issues, bullying, harassment, PTSD, Autism, ADHD, work-related stress, and complex mental health conditions.
