Tom Cowan Person-Centred Counselling Online London for Individuals and Couples/Relationships
About the Therapist
As LGBTQ+ people we occupy a unique place in the history of life on this planet; our marginalisation creates perspective, our suffering grows into strength and our isolation sparks a need for community, connection and belonging.
We experience shame from a young age because of how others see our differences. These same differences later in life can be the source of our unity, resilience and courage when examined through the lens of kind, welcoming and compassionate therapy.
Together you may wish for us to explore your intimate relationships and challenging experiences with friends, families and partner/s.
What might you discover about how you think and feel when given a safer space to express yourself freely, without fear of judgement, bias or blaming?
There are moments in our story where we learnt to keep parts of ourselves small and hidden, extinguishing the bright luminosity of our potential. Therapy can support you to spark that life force again.
I’ve worked with LGBTQ+ clients seeking support with a wide range of issues, anxiety, depression, compulsive sexual behaviour, self harm, post traumatic stress, bereavement/loss, gender identity, sexual issues, sexuality, kink, relationships, ADHD/Autism/Neuro-difference and more.
If you're contemplating starting counselling then I encourage you to contact me for a free, confidential 20 minute video call. This is a chance for me to learn more about what you need and answer any questions you might have, so we can understand if I'm the right counsellor for you at this time.

Before our first session we will have a 20 minute video call for you to ask any questions you might have.
I may ask you some of the following questions:
- Why are you looking for counselling now?
- What do you hope to get from it?
- Have you had therapy before? What happened?
- What worked well for you and what didn't?
- How would working online be for you?
- Do you have a safe enough space to talk freely?
- How might you know when it's time to end therapy?
This is an opportunity to meet each other before committing to ongoing counselling.
I can offer you open ended therapy or a limited number of sessions if that's what you need.
It's helpful to have at least 6 sessions with an opportunity to review how the therapy is progressing.
I am open to receiving your feedback at any point during the process.
Are you ready to talk? If so, then please get in touch via my website.
I offer 50 minute sessions on a weekly basis for individuals. There is a £60 charge for each session.
I offer 60 minute sessions for couples for £80.
I have a small number of concessionary places available for people on benefits and under 25s. Please ask about this if this applies to you.
