Tom Cowan Person-Centred LGBTQ Counselling
About the Therapist
Are you ready to listen to that call in your heart that seeks kindness and wants to cultivate practices of self-care? Do you find that thoughts and feelings can be overwhelming, disturbing, shaming or distressing? Have you received unwanted advice, opinions or judgements from friends or family when you've tried to open up and then felt shut down again?
How would it be to be fully seen, heard and honoured in your difference, diversity and uniqueness? Given permission to trust again, given space to develop your own insights and support for you to make sense of the life you’ve lived?
You can move forwards into the vibrant, hopeful, purposeful and satisfying life you want. I know because I’ve been there.Â
I can offer you a safe place to explore, reflect, learn and grow. A non-judgemental relationship that is full of compassion, clarity and calm. Â
Counselling is an affirmative space to share about the issues that matter to you, at your own pace and in your own way. That’s why we call it person-centred counselling. Because it’s informed by and led by you. Â
I’ve worked with LGBTQ+ clients seeking support with anxiety, depression, addiction, post traumatic stress, bereavement/loss, gender, sex, sexuality, kink and relationships.Â
I am pleased to be able to offer you a free, confidential 20 minute video call to learn more about what you need to talk through and answer any questions you might have.

I have previously worked as a Person-Centred counsellor with LGBTQ+ mental health charity MindOut in Brighton and as a Youth Support Volunteer with LGBTQ+ charity Allsorts.
I now work exclusively in private practice as a counsellor because I value being able to focus my time and attention with you directly and not through another organisation.Â
