Victoria Gilbert
About the Therapist
I am a bisexual cisgender woman, and I use she/her pronouns. I am also neurodivergent and an intersectional feminist. Like many neurodivergent people, I was diagnosed with depression and anxiety as a teenager, and I often felt like life was harder for me than it seemed to be for others. Over the years, I tried different kinds of therapy, CBT, DBT, long-term and short-term talk therapy, and through that, I began to understand myself more deeply. I also discovered how powerful it can be to feel truly seen and supported, and I started to wonder what it might be like to offer that space to others.
In my late twenties, after a lot of personal reflection (and plenty of reading), I decided to train as a counsellor. I graduated in 2025 with a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Humanistic Counselling. I completed two placements: one supporting clients with a range of issues, and another working with women who had experienced domestic abuse. Those experiences helped shape the way I work today: grounded in empathy, curiosity, and a deep respect for each person's journey.
Being queer and neurodivergent myself, I know what it can feel like to mask, to question my belonging, and to be misunderstood. These experiences have guided me to focus my practice on the LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent communities, offering a space where you don't have to explain or shrink yourself.

My approach is humanistic, which means I value the relationship we build together and trust in your own ability to find the answers that already live within you. I draw on a range of modalities to meet your unique needs and help you connect more deeply with yourself. I believe therapy can be a space to soften self-criticism, find clarity, and build a kinder relationship with ourselves.
