Will Hardy: In-person (South London)
About the Therapist
I am a queer man and I’m comfortable with he/him pronouns.
In my secondary and further education, I studied, trained and volunteered within social care and support roles. However, I decided to work within the media industry across various creative, management and relational roles for 10 years. Although this career was incredibly rewarding and a lot of fun, something was missing for me. So during the global pandemic, I started my journey into training as a counsellor, after I started to question what I valued within my life and wanted to find a different sense of purpose. Through my counselling training and my own long term experiences of personal therapy, I discovered that I wanted to support people through their healing and discovery processes within therapy.
My core training, accredited by the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), lasted three years. Within this time I completed my clinical placement, as a Volunteer Counsellor at elop, where I worked with individuals across various gender, sexuality and relationship diversities. In addition to this, I previously volunteered with Opening Doors London where I helped coordinate events for LGBTQ+ individuals over the age of 50. I also volunteered at Switchboard taking calls and responding to instant messages from individuals who reached out for support. I have also undertaken additional continuing professional development (CPD) to ensure I am consistently developing my experience, practice and knowledge. I am a member of the Gendered Intelligence Therapists and Counsellors Network and I'm an Advanced Accredited GSRD Therapist (Accred AGSRDT).
I am interested in working with anyone who wants to talk about their experiences to potentially understand them more. My practice is open and inclusive to all who identify within the LGBTQ+ community, those who are unsure or questioning and for those who don’t.

I am trained within an integrative approach to counselling. This means I work within different modalities of therapeutic thinking. My theoretical and practical approaches include humanistic, psychodynamic, GSRD, relational, phenomenological, existential and pluralistic. I combine all of these approaches to create a therapy experience that is queer and sex positive, kink-affirming and practiced with an open mindset.
Essentially, in a jargon free description, I focus on you and the experiences you’ve had that have brought you to therapy. Depending on what you wish to talk about, we may explore your earlier childhood experiences, what’s happening now for you and your goals and aspirations. My approach encapsulates the essence of your ‘here and now’ experiences which may involve your past, your present and your future self.
I describe my practice and our therapeutic work as collaborative, fluid and adaptable depending on what comes up within our sessions. Ultimately, you’re the expert of your life and I see my role as offering my therapeutic skills, techniques and perspectives to help you gain clarity into your experiences and alleviate any distress you may be feeling.
My approach to therapy is fundamentally and ethically built upon anti oppression, reflexivity, safety and trust. Therapy involves change, not conversion. Intersectionality, privilege, discrimination and difference are experiences I’m committed to exploring with you safely.

Fees are £70 per 50 minute session. However, I operate a sliding scale within my fee structure to offer part of my practice in providing more accessibility with lower-cost sessions.
Sessions are held online or in-person in South or East London within private therapy rooms. I offer a free 20 minute telephone or video consultation to discuss things further and get to know each other a bit more.
