About the Therapist
I am a psychotherapist and Certified Transactional Analyst (CTA) dedicated exclusively to supporting the LGBTQ+ community. My practice utilises the framework of Transactional Analysis (TA) to assist clients in achieving greater autonomy, whether by processing past experiences or fostering a more authentic way of living today.
As TA is a modality centred on growth and change, we will work collaboratively to explore the issues you bring to therapy, aiming to shift ingrained patterns of thought, feeling, and behaviour. I have extensive experience in supporting clients through complex mental health challenges, including depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, identity, and relational difficulties. Furthermore, I am a qualified EMDR therapist, having completed training through an EMDR Europe accredited course.

Navigating the world with an LGBTQ identity can be exciting, living life in ways you never thought possible when you were younger. However, it can also be difficult, as the world around you doesn't always mirror who you are. This can have all kinds of effects on our sense of self, our identity and our mental health. The counselling and psychotherapist I offer, using Transactional Analysis, is based on nurturing your sense of self to bring about change. By doing this, you will be able to develop your confidence, clarity, and thought to deal with the issues you face. For example, you may have problems with an identifiable connection to your identity or issues that have developed more subtly. You may know what you want to change or don't, so some exploration together needs to occur to discover the source of a problem. I am experienced in supporting people with many mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, suicide, identity, loneliness, and relationships.Speaking to a therapist from the community can sometimes be necessary, as they will also have navigated the social world regarding their identity. You won't have to explain your identity before discussing the issues you bring to therapy.
