Joey Blomqvist Almbring
About the Therapist
Hi, I am Joey.
I am a neurodivergent, queer and gender-diverse person, with a wealth of experience working as a psychotherapist in a variety of settings. I currently work online.
I am an integrative psychotherapist specialising in psychodynamic and person-centred approaches. I am trauma-informed and I work experientially while also bringing in somatic practices and/or artistic methods as wanted. With a focus on childhood trauma, I also bring extensive experience in addressing depression, anxiety, sexuality, relationship issues, and everyday challenges. As a Gender, Sex and Relationship Diversity (GSRD) psychotherapist, I offer a safe and affirming space for LGBTQIA+, consensual non-monogamous clients while also being kink aware.
Recognising the uniqueness of everyone, I tailor therapy to meet the specific needs and preferences of every client. My therapeutic style is characterised by creativity and attunement, ensuring a personalised therapeutic experience.
I offer a safe, empathic and confidential space where you can explore, without judgement, your story and any personal difficulties you are experiencing. I will work with you, in your rhythm, to help you deepen your awareness of your experiences, thoughts, and embodied feelings.
Therapy is a space where we can share our stories, our histories that influence the person we are, the suffering we may experience. Through this process, we can develop new insights into what has shaped us as people. It is a space for you to explore your way of being and your voice, to help you find your needs and desires that make you feel whole, the person you want to be. This will help you gain a deeper understanding of yourself, find the root of your feelings and what is going on for you, working towards a more integrated sense of self.
