Intersect Psychology
About the Therapist
Hello! My name is Dr Sejal Patel. I am a clinical psychologist offering psychotherapeutic support to adult clients and couples online from anywhere in the UK, and in person in Glasgow, at The Consulting Rooms.
I trained at UCL and worked in NHS services in inner city London from 1999 until I moved to an NHS post in Glasgow in 2013. I have held posts in specialist NHS HIV and sexual health services as well as specialist voluntary sector HIV services with refugee and asylum-seeking women who had experienced trauma, and have worked with many clients from marginalised groups in all my posts.
I am committed to anti-racist and gender- and sexuality- affirming practice, with 24 years of NHS experience and have now set up my own private practice; Intersect Psychology - honouring intersectionality at its heart. I am a queer person of colour.

My clinical experience has been broad and varied but I specialise in working within the realm of physical health. Â I am skilled at helping people considering the interface between their physical health/body and their emotional well-being. I integrate aspects of cognitive, systemic, compassion-based and psychodynamic approaches to my work with clients. One size does not fit all!
