About the Therapist
About the therapist:
I’m Sean, the founder and principal therapist at Anima Therapy.
I trained and qualified in Psychosynthesis: an integrative, humanistic approach based on psychoanalysis that explores human nature holistically: mind, body, and feelings.
I work creatively, exploring what is current, historical, and unknown to help make sense of complexity, uncertainty, and the chaos of life.
I have over thirty years’ experience working across the voluntary, statutory, and commercial sectors, exploring broad therapeutic themes, and specialist areas of interest; change - cultural and behavioural, identity and sexuality, trauma, grief and loss.
I am a registered member of BACP, no: 407626, and adhere to their code of ethics.

Experience and approach:
My therapeutic philosophy is everyone is unique, and our uniqueness should be celebrated. At times we can feel disconnected from our uniqueness and what makes us feel whole. My approach explores the connection between mind, body, and feelings, in a soulful way to help reconnect you to you.
Working out who you are, and how you’d like to express your identity, and sexuality can be both daunting and liberating. It can help to work with a therapist who has lived experience and is part of the queer community. I am gay/queer identifying and committed to a queer-affirming and anti-racist approach, alongside working with oppressed and minority communities.
