Daniel Gilsenan - Addiction and Recovery Coach
About the Therapist
Understand yourself to transform your life: take back control of your life from addictive substances and behaviours.
I am a highly trained psychodynamic psychotherapist and recovery specialist with many years experience working in both clinical and corporate/organisational settings.
My approach is unique in that I combine deep experience of these two worlds - the commercial and the clinical/therapeutic. I spent twenty years working in high pressure high performance environments in the City of London and in senior leadership roles in major corporates before retraining as an organisational and social psychologist and psychodynamic psychotherapist. I understand the challenges of these roles and environments. My extensive training and lengthy and intensive personal therapy enables me to help you think about how your personal perspective or inner world interacts with your context or environment.
I can help you understand the causes of your addiction (hint: it’s not that you’re a terrible person). I will walk beside you as you work through dependency and replace it with fresh beliefs and behaviours which promote wellbeing and flourishing in place of corrosion and destruction.
Experience unparalleled support tailored to your unique needs. Take back your power and reconnect with loved ones and interests, and redimeaning and purpose.

The first session is complementary and obligation-free.
If you decide to work with me, my fee is £1,200 for an eight session package. This might seem onerous, but experience shows that change takes time, and an up-front commitment is an essential foundation of support to help you move forward.
Sessions are 50 minutes and will be weekly to begin with, then less frequent in the later stages, so that your 8 session package will usually run for 3 to 4 months.
Once you have completed your 8 session package you can book ad-hoc sessions when needed, at a rate of £150 per session.
I offer a limited number of reduced rate sessions based on need and economic resources, so please get in touch even if these rates seem beyond your reach.
