My name is Paul, and I identify as a cisgendered gay man. My pronouns are He/Him/His. I understand this may be a difficult time for you, and you may be feeling lost, or confused, or stuck, but sometimes all it takes is to start talking to someone so you can feel the weight of the burden begin to ease. I realise it’s a scary thing to do, reaching out and talking to someone you don’t know, but rest assured, everything you bring to the counselling sessions is treated in the strictest confidence.

I’m a trauma-trained integrative therapist who works with individuals and couples. I build connections with my clients rooted in honesty, empathy, compassion and openness. My goal is to help you understand how you fit into your environment and the spaces you inhabit — physically and emotionally. Creating a safe, trusting space is essential for meaningful healing. I’m Max (he/him), a queer counsellor working with LGBTQ+ adults who feel disconnected – from community, from relationships, from themselves. I work online and in-person in Camden King’s Cross, Wimbledon, and Croydon.

I am an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist and my approach to therapy has been informed by both person-centred and psychodynamic approaches, alongside attention to what our bodies might hold and can tell us. This means that as well as recognising you as the expert on your own experiences, we may look back at some of your early and family history and how those relationships may be influencing what is happening for you in the present. 

You might be feeling stressed out, overwhelmed, confused and facing challenges that are uncomfortable and distressing for you. It’s not always easy or possible to speak about what’s going on with friends, family, partners or colleagues for fear of being judged or misunderstood. This can leave you feeling unseen, unheard, worried and alone. Person-centred counselling provides a supportive, inclusive and affirmative relationship to share about what’s really going on. No judgements here. Just warmth, understanding and practical support with the next steps. As well as offering person-centred counselling I also run retreats teaching mindfulness, nature connection, yoga and small group
