Abigail Madeley
About the Therapist
I am an integrative therapist, blending psychodynamic, humanistic, Transactional Analysis (TA) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). I have a particular interest in working with people who are feeling generally stuck in their lives. It might be that those feelings have no known cause. Together we can become detectives for the wound, to bring about understanding, self compassion and new choices.Â
I also work with people to navigate their journeys into or away from parenthood & I am a registered member of the British Infertility Counselling Association.
Prior to becoming a therapist I worked as a documentary director. My work won BAFTA and Emmy nominations and I bring the lived experience of delivering to high pressure clients into my therapeutic practice.
Alongside my private practice I work for a major television corporation, helping people to navigate their creative careers. I bring this knowledge into the therapeutic space.Â

I understand how hard it can be to commit to being in the same physical location every week. I specialise in remote sessions so that your therapeutic needs can be met wherever you are.Â
My integrative training means I draw from several therapeutic models to tailor sessions to your individual needs. My background in the arts means I bring creativity to that process. I work transculturally which means I bring an awareness of societal pressures placed on individuals in accordance with the numerous cultural identities that we each carry.Â
