I offer individual and relationship counselling as well as psychosexual therapy.  Seeking counselling can often feel intimidating or scary, but I am here to facilitate a safe, supportive and confidential space for you, where you can explore what is going on in your life. How we work depends on what you bring to the session and what you feel comfortable with. But whatever you bring to the sessions, we will discuss in a sensitive way and work through with encouragement, knowledge, and understanding.

Hi there, I’m Chris, a cis-gendered gay man and chartered psychologist. As a psychologist, I specialise in all kinds of anxiety (including OCD), depression, PTSD/trauma, panic disorder, workplace stress, loneliness and disconnection. As a gay man, I have further insights into the impact of shame, internalised homophobia, attachment difficulties and relationship challenges. For many years I have been very engaged with the LGBTIQ+ community, and so have an appreciation of the unique problems and challenges faced in the community.

In my work as an integrative psychotherapist, I can help you better understand what is happening in your life right now. You may be struggling with work, with relationships, or have big questions about the future or the direction life is taking. Talking things through and building a reliable and trusted relationship can help you get to know yourself better. We all go through times when everything feels messy and uncertain, but therapy can help you untangle some of the mess, bring you some clarity and help you navigate a way through.

I am a UKCP-registered psychotherapist and have been in practice since 2003. I’m down-to-earth and pragmatic with a view that therapy is a collaborative process. My role is to help you discover your own individual and meaningful solutions. Clients often describe me as warm, approachable, and someone who offers fresh perspectives on their challenges.

I offer a calm, thoughtful space where you can speak openly about parts of yourself that may feel complicated, conflicted or difficult to share elsewhere.  Many of the people I work with appear capable and self-aware, yet feel stuck in patterns of overthinking, people-pleasing, shame, or disconnection in relationships. I am particularly interested in how shame, identity, belonging and relational history shape our inner world and ways of relating.

I work in Private Practice from Farringdon and New Cross Gate. I identify as queer and genderfluid.  After starting my working life as an actor, I began my counselling journey over 30 years ago as a Samaritan volunteer and spent 10 years working as a Counselling Supervisor at ChildLine. I managed METRO charity’s LGBTQIA+ Counselling service for 11-25 year olds, as well being responsible for covering the adult service. I am a member of the Gendered Intelligence Network for Therapists and Counsellors. I am also  a qualified teacher. Please see my website for current availability.

My direction since childhood has led me on the quest towards my own inner freedom. This has led me in different avenues over the years.  First was the task to explore, accept and honour a sexuality that did not fit the hetero-normative framework. Being in a female body this lifetime and honouring the various genders that choose to express themselves during different life stages and seasons, to noticing and honouring the way my sexuality and my attractions have also not fit in, in the unspoken rules of the LGBTQI + community either.   Being an outsider, is something I have
