About the Therapist
I have worked as a therapist with clients from the LGBTQ+ community for many years. This, coupled with my own LGBTQ+ identity, gives me a passion and respect for Gender, Sexual and Relationship Diversity (GSRD). I offer a safe space for you to slow down, heal, figure things out, and express what it hasn't felt safe enough to express before.
I provide counselling (short-term) and psychotherapy (longer-term) for individuals over the age of 18. Our work together aims to help you explore your inner and outer world, gain greater awareness, discover your potential, and find meaning and purpose in life. Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, depression, loss, stuckness, your identity, relationship issues, or you simply feel like you’re not living up to your potential, I am here to help. You might just discover parts of yourself that you couldn’t see before, like the roots of a tree, so that you can stand resilient and flexible in the face of life’s challenges.
Therapy is an amazing investment in yourself, but it can be scary to get the ball rolling. I warmly await hearing from you and expect you will feel reassured as soon as we touch base. We’ll book a consultation to explore whether I'm the right therapist for you. Sessions last 50-minutes, require a commitment to meet weekly, and are available most weekdays.

I integrate two of the humanistic approaches: Gestalt and Existential therapy. Together they explore your here-and-now experience and how it is affected by your environment, relationships, past experiences, and the realities of being human. My approach is informal, honest, empathic, and sometimes playful and experimental.
GESTALT THERAPY is an experiential approach that focuses on the present moment and the whole person. We work together to increase your self-awareness and explore how you relate to yourself, others, and the world around you. In sessions we might explore what is happening for you in certain moments, paying attention to your thoughts, feelings, sensations, posture, behaviours, and so on. We might use creative techniques such as drawing, role-playing, or using a sandtray to help you get in touch with parts of yourself that you might have pushed away.
EXISTENTIAL THERAPY is a philosophical approach that explores human existence and the meaning of life. It examines the fundamental questions that we all face at some point, such as: Who am I? What gives life meaning? What is my purpose? By confronting these questions, we can develop a greater sense of freedom and responsibility to shape our own lives in a meaningful way. In sessions, we might explore your values, how they shape your experience of events, and what they reveal about what is important to you. We might explore how authentically you feel you are living your life and experiment with new ways of being that align with your values and goals. We might use different types of expression (dialogue, metaphor, journaling) to identify your patterns and beliefs that keep you from facing existential realities such as self-responsibility and freedom of choice.
I have had specialist training in Gender, Sexual & Relationship Diversity (GSRD), LGBTQ+ affirmative practice, HIV Awareness, Suicide intervention (ASIST and SafeTALK), Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression, Working Therapeutically with Sand Trays, and many more, and I attend regular on-going training as part of my continuous professional development.
