Adrian Stones
About the Therapist
I work with LGBTQ+ adults who want a space to slow things down and make sense of what has been shaping them. This isn’t about performance or quick answers, but about noticing patterns, understanding experience, and opening up more choice over time.
My work is relational and psychodynamic, with attention to what emerges between us as well as to your inner world. Some people arrive feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, shame, or disconnection; others want space to explore identity, intimacy, or familiar relational patterns. You don’t need to explain or defend your experience here. We can attend to it together without judgement.
I have particular experience working with gay men and trans people, and with themes including internalised homophobia, coming out, body awareness, sex and intimacy, chemsex, anxiety, and shame. My aim is to support the development of a steadier, more reflective relationship with yourself and with others.
Alongside individual work, I also offer group therapy. Groups provide a different way of exploring patterns of relating, allowing experiences of difference, connection, and belonging to be noticed and thought about in the presence of others.
I work online, in Hitchin (Hertfordshire), and in London.

My work is informed by psychodynamic and group analytic thinking, held within a relational and trauma-aware approach. Rather than asking you to fit a model, we pay attention to what emerges between us and in your experience over time.
The work may involve exploring core patterns, staying with intense or conflicting feelings, or simply noticing what is present without pressure to change.
