About the Therapist
Are you looking to show up authentically in your life, understand yourself on a deeper level, or move from a place of shame to a feeling of acceptance? Even if you're unsure, that's okay. I'm here to support you through the uncertainty. Starting therapy is a big step and can bring up feelings of anxiety and curiosity. Let's have a free 20-minute call to see if we're the right fit.
I aim to help you understand how you engage with yourself, others, and the world. When life feels overwhelming, it hard to confront big questions and emotions. Therapy can give you the space you need.
I believe that the therapy space is often used to grieve - maybe someone has passed away or you didn't get the promotion, maybe you're estranged from family or you stopped talking to a long-standing friend, maybe you thought life would look differently by now... this list goes on.
Together, we can process the pain that comes with acknowledging what did or didn't happen, and how that has impacted you.
“When our experiences are not seen through loving eyes, we begin to see ourselves through unloving eyes - eyes that deny, dismiss, minimize, and gaslight. We all need loving witnesses to our suffering.” - David Bedrick
In a society that values quick fixes, therapy can seem daunting. We often try to suppress difficult thoughts and feelings, only to have them resurface. Healing isn’t linear but an ongoing process of understanding and adaptation. Together, we’ll explore your symptoms as signals from your body and mind, guiding us toward clarity. Starting therapy is a big step and can bring up feelings of anxiety. Let's have a free 20-minute call to see if we're the right fit.

As an integrative therapist with a trauma-informed approach, I work with psychodynamic, existential, and person-centered modalities. What this means is that I can bring in various aspects of these different models of therapy to suit your particular needs.
Each healing journey is unique, shaped by individual circumstances and strengths. Mental health is often depicted as a linear thing you recover from, but having ups and downs is a part of being alive. It's important to acknowledge and integrate the scars of our experiences into our sense of self, in order to start the healing process. This doesn't mean you have to accept the unacceptable, but we can turn towards it with the intention of understanding and releasing what you no longer need to hold on to.
“This journey is not linear. There is no final destination of cured and healed. Healing is a never-ending process. It is an eternal unfolding - an eternal unfolding of understanding. It is about navigating the nuanced shades of healing. Where progress isn't measured by erasing our pain but our capacity to engage with it constructively. To weave our traumas into the fabric of who we are without letting them define us.” - Mollie Adler
I consider power dynamics both inside and outside the therapy room and continually seek to learn about myself and my privilege. I am an LGBTQIA+ affirming and anti-racist therapist. Humility is key in my practice. Contact me today to schedule your initial consultation.

How do I work?
-
Trauma-Informed Care: I acknowledge the impact of trauma on your life and work together to create a safe and empathetic environment for healing. I believe in client autonomy and respect the pace you want to set.
-
Existential Exploration: Together, we explore life's deeper questions and search for meaning, helping you navigate existential concerns and find purpose.
-
Pluralistic Therapy: Utilising a flexible approach, we can tailor our sessions to incorporate different therapeutic techniques that best suit your individual needs.
-
Intersectional Awareness: I honour and integrate the multiple aspects of your identity, ensuring that therapy is sensitive to the diverse factors influencing your mental health. I believe in having a 360 degree view of an individual and don’t believe any struggles or stress exist in a vacuum.
-
Psychodynamic and Attachment-Based Therapy: By examining early relationships and unconscious processes, we gain insights into your current behaviors and emotional patterns to foster deeper understanding and growth.
I have experience of providing therapy in a low-cost mental health agency, on a bereavement team in a hospice, and in a charity working with HIV+ clients, suicidal individuals, and trauma. I have worked with people from many different identities and backgrounds, facing a broad range of challenges.
I am committed to participating in additional training and lifelong learning, particularly in the areas of trauma, embodiment, systemic oppression and collective care. I have completed training in Cultural Competency, Bereavement Skills, Basic DBT Skills Training, Understanding our Intersectional Identity training, Compassion Focused Therapy and Parts Work. I am regularly attending Continuing Professional Development to deepen my learning around the areas I am interested in. I am someone who is hungry for knowledge and believe that I will always be improving my practice.
I am a Canadian living in London. Prior to becoming a therapist, I worked in the field of community-based suicide prevention. I believe in the importance of knowing the resources available to you in your community for additional support. I also have experience in the funeral sector which has given me significant experience working in bereavement. I am passionate about normalising conversations that are often seen as taboo. We will all be better off for it!
