UKCP Registered Psychotherapeutic Counsellor and BABCP Provisionally Registered CBT Therapist. I believe we are fellow travellers in our striving for self-knowledge and health, and sometimes we need a guide to support our desire to understand ‘why we do what we do’. My approach explores how the past affects what we do in the here and now, identifies inner resources and strengths, as well as teaches simple but effective strategies to better manage feelings, thoughts and behaviour and reverse the cycles of anxiety, depression or low mood we can get locked into.
Welcome! My name is Ryan and I am a fully-qualified clinical psychologist registered with the HCPC. I offer a supportive, non-judgemental space where we can think together about the challenges you are currently facing. The approach we will take depends on what brings you to therapy and how therapy works best for you and we will navigate this together. I have experience supporting individuals faced with a spectrum of challenges including, but not limited to, depression, anxiety, trauma and PTSD, addiction, psychosis, and relationship issues. I also work at the Chelsea Centre for Gender Surgery.
I identify as neurodivergent, non-binary, transgender, queer, and am in occasional non-monogamous relationships. I am also a Body Psychotherapist, focusing on the physical-emotional experience of gender-diverse folk: queer, trans, non-binary, and anyone exploring their gender identity. The realization I wanted to be a therapist came when I “woke up” and reconnected with my gender identity as a transgender & non-binary person. I then realized I wanted to help others going through their gender journeys while also facing a sometimes hostile world.
Hello, I’m Jay (They/them). Human. Professional. Down to earth psychotherapist with a quiet confidence, neuroscience-informed, intuitive ; scientist and artist at heart. Trained in multiple modalities, with more than a decade of post-qualified experience across diverse sectors, including Ministry of Justice, NHS, prisons, EAPs, and NGOs. All faith (or none) / spirituality are welcome, and will be honoured and can be tailored in your psychotherapeutic journey if you wish. Published author and editorial board member by appointment on clinical journals, yet I naturally speak mostly with my hands, simple words and metaphors.
Sometimes we might feel that things are just getting too much, or we want to look at something specific which is bothering us. Since the corona crisis we needed to adapt to a new “normal”. Feeling overwhelmed, frustrated, anxious, worn out, depressed and stressed are just some of the many ways we might react to what is happening around us and within us. Looking for help is not a sign of defeat, not now and not ever.
I am an LGBTQIA+ friendly counsellor and psychotherapist working in Oxford and remotely. I have been in practice delivering one-to-one therapy since 2017. My training is in the Person-Centred and Experiential approach to psychotherapy, and I aim to create a safe and affirmative environment for clients of all genders and sexualities.
I first became interested in becoming a counsellor when a trans friend was discussing their frustrations around not being able to find a counsellor that understands them. Despite being CIS, I knew that could offer a safe, affirming space, where people could explore who they are without judgement. Several years later I am registered with the BACP as a person centred counsellor and hopefully, am now that counsellor for some people. As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community myself, and a person centred counsellor, I focus on who people are, and the experiences that have shaped them, the labels they
As a qualified person-centred counsellor, I want to create an environment to help you identify the tools you need. I am here to lend a kind and compassionate ear and help you reflect on your experiences and feelings. Counselling can be an overwhelming experience, especially if it’s your first time, and I want to be there to support you through the first steps or build on what you’ve already developed through previous counselling experiences.
I’m Dave, a registered BACP integrative therapeutic counsellor. I have experience working with adults of all ages, backgrounds, gender identities and sexual orientations. I provide a safe, confidential space to explore whatever is going on for you and help to facilitate change in your life. It may be something very specific – like relationship problems or a major life event like loss, or a more general feeling that you would like things in your life to be different. Whatever the issue, counselling can help.
I work primarily with problems arising from the impact of living in a violent world that refuses to see or celebrate difference and otherness. The harms over time can be the result of early attachment issues, abuse, medical interventions, racism or loss, gender/sex based oppressions, queer-phobia, or ableism and so much more. There are endless ways in which such harm embeds its way into a life. I am a queer ace-spec lesbian and experience many of these micro-aggressions on a regular basis so live with such experiences. I practice from a humanistic, existential theoretical frame with a the standpoint that
