I offer a counselling space where my clients can explore themselves, get closer to what’s important to them and maybe challenge their usual ways of being, if they want to do that. My work has always been centred around people who often find themselves outside of the mainstream, and I aim to provide autonomy, knowledge and safety to groups that perhaps do not always feel able to be themselves in traditional counselling settings.

I’m Naomi. I identify as part of the LGBTQIA + community and use she/they pronouns. I trained as a therapist in Melbourne, Australia. Themes I have trained in and work with include grief, anxiety, depression, alcohol & drugs, cross-culture counselling, neurodiversity, trauma, family and relationships. Before becoming a therapist, I worked in the food industry as a start-up founder and then as a marketing and branding manager and consultant for other start-ups. I have also written a cookbook.   

People come to therapy for all sorts of reasons, be it loss, separation, addiction, childhood neglect, abusive relationships, struggles with finding the right partner, identity, loneliness, anxiety, depression and others. It can be daunting to know where to start in finding a therapist. I believe one of the most important things is how you feel when you’re with them. Developing a secure base together to which to explore from is an important starting point. It can help to have a couple of sessions to begin with to see how you feel.

I work with a vast range of presenting problems though my area of special interest and expertise is LGBTQ+/GSRD shame.
