I am an Integrative Psychotherapist based in north London, with specific interest and experience of working with the LGBTQ+ community.  I work face to face, online via Zoom and on the telephone. Whatever challenges you are facing, I offer an inclusive, non-judgmental and safe space to share your thoughts and feelings and will support you to work through the issues you want to explore.

Hi I’m Daniel (He/Him). I’m a counsellor who provides support for people that are struggling with feelings of depression, anxiety and grief. I work with people seeking support with difficult life decisions and challenges in their relationships. Often people attend because they are feeling ‘stuck’; finding themselves arriving at the same place, despite trying really hard to change. Perhaps they are drinking, shopping or eating to cope or escape. The sex and relationships they’re having has stopped feeling safe or fulfilling. They’re doing things to ‘feel better’ while avoiding people, places or decisions due to fear or shame.

I’m a qualified and registered psychodynamic therapist, holding a Master’s in Psychodynamic Counselling and Psychotherapy from Birkbeck College, a rigorous three-year training programme. While my initial training was with the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust. I am registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and adhere to their ethical guidelines and code of practice.  I’m deeply committed to helping people with a wide range of issues, especially those related to gender, sexuality, and relationships. I am a principal clinical psychologist registered with the Health and Care Professions Council. I am an associate at Dynamic Change Consultants, a foremost London psychology practice, where I see clients privately. I also work at a large and renowned NHS Trust as a lead clinical psychologist in corporate wellbeing services. I specialise in staff wellbeing, organisational strategy and racial equity.                                                                              

From navigating trauma and distress, to exploring identity and intimacy, my practice is rooted in flexibility, collaborative trust, and evidence-based care. I believe that therapy allows you to take a more active role in understanding and experiencing your emotions, thoughts and beliefs. When we are not aware of our patterns, it can mean we act out certain behaviours, or experience certain feelings, without knowing why. And while we might be able to tolerate this for some time – perhaps even for a long time – I believe there is a difference between simply surviving and truly living.

Richard Hennebert is a 51 year-old therapist, who identifies as a cis gay man (he/him). “I turned to counselling a few times: in my early twenties when I came out as a gay man to my family, when I was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 23 and at other times when I wanted to make some changes but did not know how to make them happen because I felt powerless and lost. I am an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist and my approach to therapy has been informed by both person-centred and psychodynamic approaches, alongside attention to what our bodies might hold and can tell us. This means that as well as recognising you as the expert on your own experiences, we may look back at some of your early and family history and how those relationships may be influencing what is happening for you in the present. 

Queer, worldly & wise, in private practice in London Bridge and a visiting lecturer & supervisor at University of Westminster, I have extensive experience with LGBTQ+ individual, couple or poly clients in GSRD (Gender, Sex & Relationship Diversity) Therapy rooted in evidence-based Relational & EFT Emotionally Focussed Couples Therapy to repair negative attachment patterns by challenging core beliefs and defences so clients effectively manage anxiety, self-doubt, shame and relationship difficulties with increased confidence, authenticity and openness.

I offer a safe, warm, pragmatic and down to earth space where my clients can feel free to explore their issues, anxieties, fears, thoughts, feelings and fantasies without the fear of judgment or reproach. I offer a free initial consultation of 30 minutes in order for you to see if you would like to work with me or not. I also support people with Suicidal Ideation and those that wish to address addictions such as sex addiction, gambling addiction and drug and alcohol addiction. I have an extensive knowledge of 12 step work.
