My name is Ben and I am a queer-affirming, integrative relational therapist working in Hackney and Tottenham.       We all have moments in which we question where our lives are headed. For many of us, these moments can be layered with additional complexity – whether you’re navigating identity, processing experiences of exclusion, or simply wanting to understand yourself more deeply. If you’re feeling lost, numb, restless, overwhelmed, trapped, or simply curious, therapy can be a space to slow down and explore what’s going on inside.                           

Hi, I’m Jamie, I’m an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist from the north-east of England in the UK, and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), as well as a graduate-chartered member of the British Psychological Society (BPS). With five years of counselling and psychological support behind me, my focus being on those from minority groups, such as those in the LGBTQIA+ community, of which I myself are a part of, as well as those who may fall under the neurodiverse umbrella, diagnosed or not.* *Note that I can not diagnose, nor dispense medication.

I am a non-binary, LGBTQ+ affirmative psychodynamic therapist. I am passionate about making informed, non-judgemental therapy accessible for trans and queer communities. The way that I work focuses on the connections between our past and present relationships and experiences. By exploring how we have become stuck in unhelpful patterns, psychodynamic therapy can help us to recover a sense of choice and freedom in the way that we move through the world and relate to others. My approach also takes account of the importance of identity and cultural background in shaping our experience, and the intersections of oppression and mental health.

For many years, I didn’t believe in therapy. I thought friends and family could support us through difficulties and didn’t see the need for professional therapists.   But my views changed when a close friend went through a very painful period in their life and had counselling. I saw how therapy transformed them and began to think differently about it. I realised that, while the support of loved ones may be sufficient for some, for many it is invaluable to talk to someone objective, who is professionally trained to help.

I have an established practice working with young people (16-24) and adults.  In terms of therapeutic approaches, I aim to create a solution-focused and person-centred drama therapy space that is confidential, safe, and non-judgemental.  An appointment can be arranged with me online via Zoom, or face-to-face  

In my work as an integrative psychotherapist, I can help you better understand what is happening in your life right now. You may be struggling with work, with relationships, or have big questions about the future or the direction life is taking. Talking things through and building a reliable and trusted relationship can help you get to know yourself better. We all go through times when everything feels messy and uncertain, but therapy can help you untangle some of the mess, bring you some clarity and help you navigate a way through.
