I offer a free initial consultation of 30 minutes in order for you to see if you would like to work with me or not. I also support people with Suicidal Ideation and those that wish to address addictions such as sex addiction, gambling addiction and drug and alcohol addiction. I have an extensive knowledge of 12 step work.

Hello, I’m Micheál (pronounced: mee-hol, pronouns: they/them/theirs) and I’m an integrative psychotherapeutic counsellor based in Glastonbury, Somerset. The aim of counselling is to help you understand your thoughts, feelings and experiences, gaining a deeper understanding about yourself and empowering you to grow where you feel you would like to make a change.  Sometimes people come to counselling to process a recent major life change, sometimes to talk through immediate worries/issues and other people recognise a need to explore more longstanding issues. I have particular experience in working with people who identify as LGBTQ+ or GSRD (gender, sexuality and relationship diverse).

I have worked as a psychotherapist for the queer community for over 10 years. I am also also a clinical supervisor and trainer for MIND and the NHS. I am also a fully accredited BACP counsellor and senior psychotherapist (with  having completed a course in advanced psychotherapy which is part of a PhD programme at CCPE.) I am also an individual and group supervisor having qualified at the Institute of Group Psychoanalysis (IGA)

I’m experienced in helping people who are struggling with anxiety, depression, loneliness or sex and relationship difficulties. I’m a lead psychologist for NHS services and have a background in specialist services for sexual health. I understand how looking for a therapist can be daunting, possibly quite overwhelming. I therefore offer a free initial telephone consultation of 15-20 minutes. This gives us an opportunity to talk about what you’re struggling with and how I could help before deciding whether to book further sessions. I’m currently accepting new clients for online therapy on weekday evenings.
