I am a EMDR UK Accredited EMDR therapist with extensive experience of helping lesbian and gay clients process trauma. I am also a BACP Registered counsellor. I work in Central London (Kings Cross) and St Albans, in-person. I also work online. Many of my LGBTQ+ clients have specific traumas relating to their sexuality and how others have treated them. I offer both long-term and short-term therapy.

Hi I’m Daniel (He/Him). I’m a counsellor who provides support for people that are struggling with feelings of depression, anxiety and grief. I work with people seeking support with difficult life decisions and challenges in their relationships. Often people attend because they are feeling ‘stuck’; finding themselves arriving at the same place, despite trying really hard to change. Perhaps they are drinking, shopping or eating to cope or escape. The sex and relationships they’re having has stopped feeling safe or fulfilling. They’re doing things to ‘feel better’ while avoiding people, places or decisions due to fear or shame.

I am BACP Accredited Psychodynamic Psychotherapeutic Counsellor (PgDip), Accredited Specialist Sexual Violence Therapist, and Certified Relationship Therapist (COSRT Level 5), working online, via Zoom, with individuals and couples throughout the UK. I integrate Jungian, mindfulness, body-psychotherapy and somatic trauma approaches into my clinical work, drawing from more than eight years of therapeutic experience in private practice, community and specialist mental health settings. I am sensitive to the interplay between wider societal context with mental and emotional wellbeing, and my practice is affirming of individuals and relationships across the spectrum of gender, sexuality and relationship diversity.

Maybe you’re struggling with mental health problems, or your relationships with others. Maybe you’re having trouble coming to terms with your own identity. I will walk alongside you, and together we will work for you to feel more comfortable, confident, and able to deal with whatever life throws your way.

My approach is collaborative, pro-active, and focused on making changes with you. Areas I can support you with include: personal identity, understanding and managing emotions, depression, anxiety, relationships, and trauma. I have extensive experience supporting survivors of sexual abuse of any gender, including those who are navigating the criminal justice system in England / Wales (pre-trial therapy).

I’m a qualified and registered psychodynamic therapist, holding a Master’s in Psychodynamic Counselling and Psychotherapy from Birkbeck College, a rigorous three-year training programme. While my initial training was with the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust. I am registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and adhere to their ethical guidelines and code of practice.  I’m deeply committed to helping people with a wide range of issues, especially those related to gender, sexuality, and relationships.
