If it feels vulnerable going into therapy, you’re not alone. Sometimes we only make it to therapy once something has become so uncomfortable and awful, or the people around us are losing such a huge amount of patience with us, that we think – ok. I’d like the worst of this to stop. But- nothing major. Just take the edge off the pain, please. An inch off. A trim. What we may not expect is that, through therapy, you find the courage to hear the message in your mess. And pain, when it is processed, becomes your superpower.

As an LGBTQ+ identified person, I understand how powerful — and at times painful — it can be to navigate questions of identity, belonging, shame, and acceptance. These personal experiences have shaped not only who I am, but also how I hold space for others: with empathy, openness, and deep respect for your unique journey. Working integratively means I draw from a range of therapeutic approaches (including person-centred, psychodynamic, and CBT) to offer support that is flexible, collaborative, and tailored to you.                      

I am a non-binary, LGBTQ+ affirmative psychodynamic therapist. I am passionate about making informed, non-judgemental therapy accessible for trans and queer communities. The way that I work focuses on the connections between our past and present relationships and experiences. By exploring how we have become stuck in unhelpful patterns, psychodynamic therapy can help us to recover a sense of choice and freedom in the way that we move through the world and relate to others. My approach also takes account of the importance of identity and cultural background in shaping our experience, and the intersections of oppression and mental health.

For many years, I didn’t believe in therapy. I thought friends and family could support us through difficulties and didn’t see the need for professional therapists.   But my views changed when a close friend went through a very painful period in their life and had counselling. I saw how therapy transformed them and began to think differently about it. I realised that, while the support of loved ones may be sufficient for some, for many it is invaluable to talk to someone objective, who is professionally trained to help.

I have an established practice working with young people (16-24) and adults.  In terms of therapeutic approaches, I aim to create a solution-focused and person-centred drama therapy space that is confidential, safe, and non-judgemental.  An appointment can be arranged with me online via Zoom, or face-to-face
