Cole Ruegg
About the Therapist
My name is Cole Ruegg. I am a qualified psychodynamic psychotherapist registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I offer online therapy to adults across the UK.
Alongside my private practice, I have worked for several years providing psychodynamic therapy within the NHS, and as a listening volunteer with Switchboard, the LGBTQ+ helpline. This experience has deepened my understanding of the diverse ways people navigate identity, relationships, and belonging.

My approach is psychodynamic, drawing on psychoanalytic thinking to explore how past experiences and earlier relationships continue to shape the way we see ourselves and relate to others. Often, the patterns that feel hardest to shift have roots that lie outside conscious awareness. Therapy offers a space to gently bring these into focus, opening the possibility of greater self-understanding and lasting change.
The therapeutic relationship itself is central to this process. What unfolds between us in sessions can mirror wider relationship patterns and offer valuable insight into your inner world.
I work affirmatively with LGBTQ+ clients, and understand queer, trans, and non-binary identities as natural and valid expressions of human diversity. I hold in mind the importance of culture, context, and the wider systems we live within, recognising how factors such as race, class, disability, and religion shape our experiences and mental health.
Sessions are 50 minutes long and take place weekly. The overall duration of therapy is typically open-ended, allowing your needs to guide how long we work together.

Initial consultations: I offer two initial sessions of 50 minutes each for a combined fee of £100. These sessions give us the opportunity to meet, explore what has brought you to therapy, and decide together whether to proceed with weekly therapy.
Ongoing therapy: Sessions last for 50 minutes and fees range between £80 and £100 per session, agreed based on your personal circumstances.
Reduced rate: I reserve a limited number of spaces for those unable to afford the standard rate. Priority is given to students, those on benefits, individuals from marginalised communities, and others experiencing genuine financial hardship. Please get in touch to discuss your situation confidentially.
