About the Therapist
Beginning Therapy
Once you’ve contacted me I will be in touch to arrange a free 20-minute phone consultation. This will be a chance to briefly discuss what brings you to therapy, ask any questions you might have, and book an introductory session if you choose to.
The introductory session will be somewhere between 50 and 90 minutes. This session will be an opportunity to meet properly either in person or online, explore your goals for therapy, and get a sense of whether we would work well together. This session is charged at my usual rate.
Should we decide to go forward following this introductory session, we will book a regular slot for our weekly sessions. This session will be reserved for you every week at the same time/place.
Starting therapy can bring up many different feelings, and I make sure that the process of beginning is as comfortable, containing, and grounding as possible.

My Experience
I have worked for a number of low-cost community therapy services, seeing people with a wide range of challenging experiences, including anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, struggles at work, addiction, shame, issues of self-worth, eating disorders, grief, loss of meaning, eco-anxiety, spiritual and existential crises, and questions around sexuality, gender, and identity. I am currently a staff member at Headstrong Counselling Service as part of the safeguarding team.
My Approach
As children we adapt to the world we find ourselves in, responding to parents, caregivers, and siblings. We grow up, adjusting to social groups, and learning what society expects of us. What role are we meant to play? What do we need to do to be loved or accepted?
These adaptations can be successful in helping us survive, but over time they can become restrictive, creating limiting internal stories about who we are and what we are worth. We can struggle to feel fully present with ourselves and in our relationships. It might be hard to hear the still small voice guiding us toward a deeper sense of meaning.
In therapy, I create an empathetic and holding space where we can include all aspects of your life, where all thoughts and feelings are welcome. We can explore past experiences and how these continue to influence you. We can enquire into your existential or spiritual questions, listening out for what feels most true. We can use the relationship between us to understand your patterns in relating to others. With all of this we can seek to understand your experience in the context of society, and with the knowledge that you have a unique and important place in the world.
I will be led by you in this journey, drawing on my integrative practice to tailor the therapeutic process to your goals. This process can increase understanding and compassion for yourself and others. It can leave you with a greater sense of empowerment in your own life and result in a deeper alignment with yourself.
