Dr Hannah Ward
About the Therapist
I’m a queer cis-gender woman passionate about working therapeutically with gender, sexuality and relationship diversity. As an HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist, I'm highly experienced in providing evidence-based therapy tailored to your individual needs. I hold expertise in treating a wide range of difficulties, including anxiety, low self-esteem, and low mood, as well as work with people facing issues related to identity (including LGBTQ+ identities), relationships, sexual wellbeing, grief and loss.
I'm committed to creating a relaxed and trusting environment for you to express yourself freely and explore the issues affecting you. Holding in mind the therapeutic relationship is an important factor when having therapy, I offer a space that is non-judgemental, caring and compassionate. I take an affirmative approach to exploring aspects of identity, including sexuality and gender, and a strengths-based approach to overcoming any obstacles you may be facing.
I understand the importance of attending to your social and cultural context and the impact multiple intersecting identities can have on your mental health and wellbeing. Together, we can work collaboratively to support you in better understanding your experiences and make the meaningful changes in your life you wish to see.

I work integratively to provide evidence-based therapy tailored to your needs. My main approaches are Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), narrative therapy and attachment-based therapy.
I have experience working in a gender-identity service with trans+ and non-binary clients, and with people questioning their gender identity. I practice affirmatively with sex work, kink and non-monogomy, understanding that relationships can take many different forms.
