About the Therapist
I am a psychotherapist and counsellor with an online private practice. Hopefully in future I will practise again in-person in Hendon, North West London, but at the moment I only work online. I am registered with the UKCP in the CPJA section. I have practised since 2006. I adhere to the Code of ethics and professional practice of the UKCP . I am committed to a wide concept of human rights, diversity and inclusion. Diversity for me includes ethnicity, culture, nationality, “race”, neurodivergence, gender, sexuality (identity - orientation - behaviour), (non-monogamous) relationship styles, age, spirituality, ability, status of physical and/or mental health, “class”, legality, “criminality”. Until age 50, I worked in business. I spent a lot of time in the Middle East, have lived in seven different countries, and can work in English, Dutch and German. I have children, stepchildren and grandchildren. I am a Clinical Associate and Advanced Accredited Sexual Minorities Therapist of Pink Therapy and Pink Therapy International. I have a Masters degree in Development Economics and Statistics from Erasmus University, Rotterdam, the Netherlands. I attended the 2005 and 2017 Evolution of Psychotherapy conferences in California. I trained in Somatic Trauma Therapy with Babette Rothschild. Memberships: The Relational School, the European Society for Trauma and Dissociation, and the London Gender Sex and Relationship Diversity Practice.

I consider myself a "broad-band" psychotherapist. I use relational, psychoanalytic, humanistic-existential, behavioural, contextual, ACT, body-therapy, and attachment-theory-based approaches in my work. In training and experience, I am very familiar with relationship issues, gender, sexuality, sexual behaviour and expression; anything to do with anxiety and fear; neurodiversity; backgrounds of trauma and abuse; dissociation (including PTSD, complex PTSD and dissociative disorders); somatic symptoms or issues (e.g. bodymind; "unclear" illnesses on the psychological side); cultural issues; identity issues. Black Lives Matter; and I am limited by my white privilege. I have considerable forensic experience and am deeply non-judgemental about “criminal” records, “offences” and accusations. I consider that sex work is work. Sex workers are most welcome. "Offenders" and "criminals", too. I emphasise flexibility in favour of what works well for clients. I work in English, Dutch and German. I don't work with people below 16 years of age, and not usually below 21. We are all human first, and I am open to working with anyone. Having said that, I am positive and knowledgeable about much of the diversity in LGBTQIA++, GSRD (Gender, Sex and Relationship Diversities), neurodiversity, kink/BDSM, non-monogamy and polyamory, and am experienced in working with people for whom some of these categories are meaningful or part of their identity. There are other things in life than psychotherapy that are of vital importance: people, relationships, working, creating, living, spirituality, politics, ecology, the planet, nature, non-human animals, love and sex, the groundedness of all and everyone in body, matter, time, history and evolution. Despite the potential of psychotherapy to be a significant force for good to help or support many people, psychotherapy isn't everything. I consider psychotherapy as one option, and not as a panacea for every person and every problem.

My fee is £120 per full hour. For therapy with more than one person I generally recommend sessions of 1.5 hours. I have a number of openings for concessionary / sliding-scale reductions in fee; these openings are currently filled.
