Jon Wise
About the Therapist
I’m an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist offering an affirming, grounded space to explore whatever brings you to therapy.
I have particular experience working with gay men and members of the LGBTQ+ community, offering a space where you don’t need to explain yourself or hold parts of who you are back. Many people I work with are navigating shame, anxiety, low self-worth, or difficulties in relationships, and may feel stuck or unsure why certain patterns keep repeating.
Together, we can begin to make sense of these experiences, including how past relationships and identity may be shaping how you feel and relate to others.
I work in a collaborative and thoughtful way, adapting the work to your individual needs. Sessions are available online and in person.

As a gay therapist, I bring both professional training and lived experience to my work. I understand how growing up in a world that doesn’t always reflect or support who we are can shape our sense of self, our relationships, and how safe we feel in ourselves.
I’m an integrative psychotherapist, drawing on a range of approaches depending on what feels most helpful for you. My work is relational and client-led, with a focus on building a safe, respectful, and affirming space between us.
I support clients with a range of concerns, including anxiety, shame, overthinking, people-pleasing, body image, and difficulties around sex and intimacy. I have particular experience working with gay men around identity, loneliness, internalised homophobia, and feelings of “not enough,” as well as patterns of self-doubt or disconnection.
Together, we can begin to make sense of these experiences, including where they may come from and how they continue to shape the present. Over time, this can help you feel more grounded, develop a clearer sense of yourself, and relate to yourself with more understanding.
