Karen Savage
About the Therapist
Having come out as fluid later in life and being neurodivergent, I understand firsthand the complexities of identity exploration and what it means to move through the world a little differently. Shifts in how you see and express yourself can bring up uncertainty, fear, and sometimes deep feelings of isolation. This lived experience shapes the way I work, with empathy, openness, and a deep respect for your unique journey.
My approach is collaborative and always tailored to your needs. When working with past or historical trauma, I draw on approaches such as Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) and Psychodynamic therapy to gently explore and heal long-standing patterns. To support meaningful change in your day-to-day life, I use Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) to help disrupt unhelpful habits and promote growth.
In relationship therapy, I use the Gottman Method, a research-based approach that focuses on improving communication, strengthening emotional connection, and building a more resilient partnership.
If you're ready to explore what’s next for you, I’d be honoured to support you. Feel free to get in touch to see if working together feels like a good fit.

I provide an integrative, LGBTQIA+ affirming therapeutic space tailored to your unique experiences, identity, and relationships. Whether you are exploring your gender identity or sexual orientation or navigating the complexities of non-traditional or multi-partner relationships, my approach is grounded in empathy, respect, and evidence-based practice.
Areas we can explore together include:
- Identity exploration - coming out later in life, and the emotional impact of being unseen or unsupported
- Trauma - including CPTSD, severe burnout, and past relationship wounds carried into the present
- Neurodivergence - understanding how this can uniquely shape your experiences and attachments
- Relationship dynamics - including friction, communication breakdowns, and feelings of disconnection
If you are seeking a safe, affirming space to reflect, process, and move forward, you are welcome to contact me to explore whether working together feels right for you.
