Lizzy Pennock
About the Therapist
Hi there. Well done on getting to this point - I’ve been in your shoes and I remember how overwhelming it can be when you’re looking for a therapist.
I’m Lizzy (she / her) and I’m a queer humanistic therapist from Brighton. Humanistic means that I believe that you are the expert in your own experience, not me. I will never diagnose you, or tell you what to do, nor will I give you advice or homework - we’ll work together to explore what you want and need from therapy.
As a queer person myself, I am Gender, Sexuality and Relationship Diversity affirmative and have particular experience of working with LGBTQIA+ clients. I am always working towards making my practice as anti-oppressive, anti-racist, anti-ableist and neurodivergence friendly as I can.
You might have a specific issue you want to work on. You might be going through a difficult time in your life and need some support. You might simply want to learn and explore more about yourself. All of these are welcome in my therapy room. I work from an existential perspective which means that together we’ll look at your life and ask the big questions: Who are you? What do you want out of your life? How can we achieve those things together?
We live in tough, uncertain times but I believe there’s always the potential for joy, healing and growth, however small.
I offer in person or online weekly or fortnightly face-to-face 50 minute therapy sessions priced at £60 per session in my comfortable therapy room in Brighton, or online via Zoom. Intro sessions are half price (£30). Please note that my room is up several flights of stairs with no lift available.
