Mark Ryan Couples Therapist
About the Therapist
My name is Mark and I've been working as a psychotherapist for some years now. Throughout my life people (strangers and friends alike) have always told me I'm 'easy to talk to'. I think the reason is that I find it very easy to make space for the full spectrum of a person's experience and actions without judgment.
I believe we're all human and all have a story to tell. I've come to realize the healing power of creating a safe space in which clients can share their inner worlds and talk about things they may never have spoken about before. I believe I'm a companion for part of your journey.
As a member of the LGBT+ community my journey has had its fair share of ups and downs, and I know how important it is to have extra support sometimes. When we meet I'll be curious about you, but always through a lens of compassion.

In addition to multiple business and marketing-related qualifications, I have an Honors Degree in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy. I'm a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP); you can see my entry to the BACP register here: https://www.bacp.co.uk/profile/229bb3e5-8d80-ee11-8179-00224899a08f Â
I am a BACP Registered Psychotherapist with an honours degree in integrative counselling and psychotherapy. I have many years of private practice experience, working with clients face-to-face, as well as online.
I offer short-term and long-term counselling and psychotherapy to couples with a wide range of presenting issues.
My training covers a variety of approaches and modalities, and I utilize whatever is needed to best support my clients. I have experience in humanistic methods, including person-centred and existential. I've also trained in Cognitive Behaviour therapy which can be very useful for shorter term work.
I draw from a broad range of theories and methods to provide tailored support that is bespoke to each client.
The work we do together has to be as unique as you are.
I firmly believe that therapy isn’t about fitting relationships into predefined moulds—it’s about embracing and honoring the diverse ways people love and connect. Together, we’ll explore the dynamics of your relationship, clarify your goals, and work towards an outcome that feels right for everyone involved, whether that’s strengthening your bond or redefining the nature of your connection.
As a member of the LGBTQ+ community and an ally of non-traditional partnerships, I am committed to fostering inclusivity and cultural sensitivity. My practice is a judgment-free zone where you can express your truth and work through challenges in a supportive environment.
Taking the first step towards therapy is an act of courage and self-care. Contact me today to begin a collaborative journey toward clarity, growth, and a relationship that reflects your unique values and needs.
