Hi there, I’m Chris, a cis-gendered gay man and chartered psychologist. As a psychologist, I specialise in all kinds of anxiety (including OCD), depression, panic disorder, trauma, workplace stress, loneliness and disconnection. As a gay man, I have further insights into the impact of shame, internalised homophobia, attachment difficulties and relationship challenges. For many years I have been very engaged with the LGBTIQ+ community, and so have an appreciation of the unique problems and challenges faced in the community.

I am an experienced gay psychodynamic counsellor and psychotherapist who is a member of the BACP. I will help you work through your unique LGBT+ story and difficulties you face, by building an empathic and affirmative relationship which offers you the best opportunity possible to comes to terms with difficult, painful past and present experiences, thoughts and emotions, enabling you to live more freely as your authentic self. Examples of these difficulties may include finding it hard to find or maintain relationships, fears or anxieties related to love, sex and intimacy or past traumas.
My aim is to support you in improving your quality of life, whatever this means for you. It could include: more fulfilment at work, a richer life outside of work, stronger connections with others, healthier intimate relationships, or a better sex life. We will work together to identify what you hope for and what stops you from getting it. I will challenge and support you to work through any unfinished business from the past; resolve unprocessed emotions; and develop your awareness so that you can live your life more closely in line with what matters most to you.
I am a counsellor working from rooms in Holborn/Chancery Lane and Hackney. I also provide counselling online.The largest part of my work is with Queer / LGBTQ+ clients, and I have previously worked with two LGBTQ+ organisations (Switchboard and East London Out Project). I have had additional specialist training from Gendered Intelligence and Pink Therapy. My core training is in humanistic counselling so I am trained in a range of approaches, but primarily practice using gestalt therapy. I am committed to a trans-affirming, queer-affirming, anti-racist approach.
