Neil Turner MA Online
About the Therapist
I identify as a gay man and have lived in central London for over 30 years. I came out in the early 1990s and experienced all the highs and lows of this. Before training to be a Psychotherapist, I'd worked as a designer. After 20 years of doing this I decided to shift direction and follow my passion for psychology and therapy. Creatively, I now have an art practice and design and create methods for better understanding and transforming stress and anxiety.
Over the years I've been interested in the experience of coming out, gay shame and internalised homophobia. The impact of this on mental and physical health and how to free oneself from the limitations of this. What does it means to you to be a contemporary queer person, to live authentically and independently in the way that best suits you?
I'm interested in how we can overcome obstacles and limitations in order to feel secure and free within yourself and better equipped to face the challenges of your lives and relationships in ways that lasts.
I'm interested in how we can overcome obstacles and limitations in order to feel secure and free within ourselves and better equipped to face the challenges of our lives and relationships in a way that is sustainable.

I have experience working with; anxiety, depression, insomnia, navigating open and poly relationships, being single, sex and sexuality, stress, loss of meaning and motivation, self-doubt, low self-esteem, creativity and how to take charge of your life.
In our work together we’ll explore what's causing you to feel down, stressed or stuck and ways to move forward. I also provide a series of unique and very effective tools to further support you.
Below are a few examples of what recent clients have said on completing our work together;
"Through therapy I have learned that all the answers are inside myself, that I have the solutions. I have learned techniques to tap into them and to trust myself and my own insight more. Instead of running away from myself when I am panicking about something, I can now turn towards myself and face the difficulties I might be facing with more confidence.”
"Therapy with Neil has helped me find some order during a very chaotic and difficult period in my life. Simply saying the words helped shine some light, but the real benefit for me was putting structure to my thoughts and feelings. Being in an environment without an agenda and without judgment helped me better understand myself."
"Therapy is not just about sitting and listening, it’s about actively choosing to make a change in the behaviors that are bringing you down. While this can be incredibly daunting, I have found that applying the techniques that I learned in therapy have helped me immeasurably."
