About the Therapist
I’m aware starting the counselling process can be daunting, and I have sat in the client chair many times myself and understand it can feel overwhelming. My goal is to create a safe and welcoming space where you feel at ease. I believe that by building a trusting therapeutic relationship, we can work together on whatever is impacting you, supporting you to reach a better understanding of yourself and move towards making any changes that feel right for you.

I am a registered member of the British Association of Counsellors & Psychotherapists (MBACP), qualifying in 2015, and I have a BSc degree in Psychology. I believe every person is unique and I am therefore keen to work flexibly and collaboratively, so we can work together in a way that best suits you.
I currently work as a therapist and Counselling Services Manager for METRO Charity, where I lead a team of qualified and trainee counsellors across a variety of projects supporting adults who identify as LGBTQIA+ and people living with HIV. Prior to my current role at METRO Charity, I worked as the Youth Counselling Lead- supporting young people who identify as LGBTQIA+. Before this, I worked with young people in schools and colleges, and with people struggling with substance use.
My work is GSRD (Gender, Sexuality and Relationship Diversity) informed; these parts of your identity will only be the focus of your work if you want them to be.
In our first session, we can talk about what you would like from counselling and how we might best work together, and this can develop and grow over time.

My approach is predominantly person-centred- meaning the sessions are centered around you and led by what you would like to bring to counselling. I offer a space for you to talk that is empathic, non-judgemental and accepting where you will feel heard, seen and valued.
The majority of my experience is working with LGBTQIA+ folk. Having said this, everybody is welcome and I am happy to see clients from all walks of life.
I invite you to reach out for a free 20-minute introductory session to see if we are a good fit. This will be a chance for me to get a sense of whether I might be the right therapist for you, and there is no obligation at all to continue after this.
I see clients in person in Crystal Palace and online- if you would like to talk about working together then please do get in touch by emailing me.
