Nicola Gilbert
About the Therapist
Do you feel lost? Like you don’t know who you are anymore? Hi, I’m Nicola (she/her) a trainee UKCP psychotherapist and counsellor currently in the fourth year of my Masters. I work with people who are trying to get their future back but feel totally lost in how to do so. It could be that you have experienced sexual assault, survived domestic abuse, have a new or evolving health diagnosis, or have recognised that your childhood wasn’t like other people’s. Psychotherapy can help you find who you are again and get to a future you want to be living.
For the past two years I have worked with survivors of sexual assault and domestic abuse. I also have a specific interest in chronic health conditions such as IBS, endometriosis and chronic fatigue.
I welcome, and have experience working with, people of different cultures, ages, religions, genders, and sexual orientations.
I offer a 15 minute free consultation.

I combine my 17 years experience of working in people related professions with my four years of psychotherapy training to work with you.
I've been working with clients as a volunteer counsellor for over two years and have worked with a wide variety of people. One of these organisations included several clients who identified as LGBTQIA+. I've also had training with Gendered Intelligence and worked with people from across LGBTQIA+ identities in my prior career.
When working with clients I use a range of techniques and adapt these to each individual. These tend to focus on your past and how you came to be who you are now, your present situation, and what you want in your future. I've discovered that everyone is truly on their own unique path and therapy can help you discover yours.
I started my psychotherapy training by completing a certificate in counselling skills with CPCAB in 2022. I'm currently studying for a Masters in Integrative Psychotherapy which is accredited by the UKCP.
