Niki D (Hackney)
About the Therapist
My therapy work is now centred around relationship therapy and group therapy for people from GSRD (gender, sexual and relationship diverse) communities.
I facilitate two queer therapy groups, both held fortnightly from my home practice in Dalston, London. I also run a separate therapy group specifically for GSRD therapists, also based in Dalston.
Alongside my group work, I specialise in relationship therapy with queer and trans couples and partners. I have a particular interest and specialism in open and polyamorous relationships, and work with a wide range of relationship structures and ways of relating.

It is important to me to work with people from our queer and trans (GSRD) communities, and to offer a therapeutic relationship where your sexuality, gender identity and relationship choices are not questioned, pathologised or viewed as problematic.
I want people to begin from the premise that they are accepted, respected and honoured for who they are. You shouldn’t have to educate your therapist about your identity or experiences, or navigate intrusive, ill-informed or condescending questions. Instead, our work can begin from a place of understanding, curiosity and genuine respect for the person you are.
I aim to support you and also encourage you to face what’s difficult, understand your choices and live more confidently in line with your values. Existential therapy helps you see how you create meaning , or avoid it and why. It invites you to take honest responsibility for the choices you make, avoid, or tell yourself you’re making. It is a relational, grounded therapy focused on living in good faith: meeting your life and your conscience with courage and authenticity.
