Pete Connor Psychotherapy and Supervision
About the Therapist
I have been fortunate to work in the care field for over 35 years, mostly as a counsellor, psychotherapist and supervisor. Although I have worked as a private practitioner for 10 years, much of my career has been in the HIV and sexual health field, as a home care assistant, general support worker, health educator, care coordinator, and eventually agency manager. I therefore have experience of care and human relationships in a variety of settings and roles although working therapeutically has always been central to my professional life.

- Depression and feeling low
- Confidence and self-esteem
- Relationship issues
- Loss and bereavement
- Trauma and abuse
- Addictions
- Feeling stuck in old patterns of thinking, feeling and/or behaviour
- Employment and career issues, redundancy and retirement
- Life stage and transitions
I also have specialist training and experience in working with:
- Sex, sexuality, LGBTQ+ Â and gender issues
- Working with men
- Physical illness, including cancer, HIV, MS and ME, pain and disability

- Spirituality and transpersonal issues
My central trainings have been in humanistic counselling, psychosynthesis psychotherapy, and Internal Family Systems, along with some Jungian theory and dream analysis. As well as individual counselling and psychotherapy, I offer clinical supervision for counsellors and psychotherapists and also non-managerial and organisational supervision for workers and managers in the care and not-for-profit sector.
I am a senior BACP accredited counsellor and supervisor and also a UKCP registered psychotherapist. This means that my qualifications are very widely recognised and that I have significant experience in the counselling and psychotherapy fields. I am committed to my on-going personal and professional development, undertaking regular training.
I see adult individual clients and supervisees, either online or in my consulting room or a blend of both. There is a designated therapy room on the first floor of my house on the outskirts of Keynsham. It is 10 minutes walk from bus stops, buses running every 15 minutes from the centre of Bristol and journeys taking approximately 20/25 minutes. Those coming by car can park on the driveway at the front of the house. It is also roughly 15 minutes walk from Keynsham train station.
