Rachel Jones-Wild
About the Therapist
I’m Rachel, a queer integrative psychotherapist with a primary focus on Transactional Analysis, while also drawing on Gestalt, CBT, creative methods, and mindfulness practices. My approach is affirming, inclusive, and trauma-informed, offering a safe and non-judgemental space for clients to explore their identities, relationships, and life experiences. I work collaboratively with clients to address a range of challenges, including identity, relationship dynamics, and self-esteem. With a focus on the needs of LGBTQ+ individuals and those exploring gender, sexual, or relationship diversity, I provide an integrative approach that supports self-discovery, resilience, and tools to navigate life with authenticity and confidence.

With over a decade of experience in psychotherapy and counselling, I bring a breadth of knowledge and flexibility to my work with clients. I qualified as a psychotherapeutic counsellor in 2012 and as a psychotherapist in 2021, and I have practised in diverse settings, including a GP surgery, my own private practice (established in 2013), and a specialist charity, Eating Distress North East, where I supported clients facing eating-related challenges. I am also the clinical lead of Mindful Counselling, a mindfulness-based service in Newcastle upon Tyne, and direct Mindfulness Based Therapies CIC and Mindful Therapies CIO, organisations dedicated to promoting mindfulness-based mental health support. As a clinical supervisor and trainer, I specialise in trauma-informed mindfulness, offering workshops and courses for professionals seeking tools to manage vicarious trauma and build resilience in their work. In my approach, I offer flexibility to work either short-term or long-term, depending on your needs. I provide practical tools and techniques for managing immediate symptoms, while also creating a safe, supportive space to explore deeper aspects of your inner world and history. This combination of present-focused skills and reflective exploration enables greater understanding and fosters lasting change. I work in person in Newcastle city centre and remotely on Zoom.
