I have about 5 years experience in the mental health field, and I consider myself an integrative therapist, however throughout the years and trainings, I have found my own style and preference of therapy. I don't take the role of the all-knowing therapist of your problems, instead I believe you are the expert of you, and I take a collaborative and open approach to therapy allowing a space of curiosity, compassion and to freely express. I also have a non-pathologising approach to therapy, where I believe our 'symptoms' are really just parts of ourselves that have a positive intention, keeping us safe in the best way they know how.
This is through a therapeutic approach called Internal Family Systems therapy, and I integrate this therapeutic modality blending with creative expression and Eye-Movement Desensitisation Therapy (EMDR) for trauma. I have found this process to also be profound for my clients, fostering self-acceptance, compassion and a greater sense of calm with life's challenges.Â
