About the Therapist
Hi, I’m Rob. I’m a gay, cisgender, registered psychotherapist in training, and experienced mental health practitioner, based in Bristol. I am passionate about supporting people from the LGBTQIA community.
There are lots of reason why someone might consider therapy; it could be due to anxiety, depression, a breakdown of a relationship, bereavement, a loss of a job, or a niggling feeling that something does not feel quite right.
Embarking on therapy can sometimes feel difficult, however, I am here to provide you with a safe, confidential space where you can feel supported in your journey of self-exploration, allowing you to process your thoughts, feelings, behaviours, hopes, and fears. I believe that through therapy we can gain insight and understand ourselves better, which can be life changing.
I offer both short and long-term counselling and psychotherapy, which is weekly and either in-person or online. I also provide affordable, low-cost therapy, and each 50-minute session is £35.00. We can meet online for a free 15-minute initial session, which is an opportunity to ask any questions and to explore how we might work together.

I have a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychological Therapies Practice, an MSc in Psychology, and I am currently undertaking an Advanced Postgraduate Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy (at the Welsh Institute of Psychotherapy). In addition to these, I have a certificate in psychodynamic counselling, and I am trained in motivational interviewing - which is an approach used to explore lifestyle change, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). CBT is a therapeutic intervention used to help tackle common mental health problems, such as depression and anxiety-related disorders, including OCD.

My approach to psychotherapy is relational-integrative, which means that I believe the most important part of therapy is our therapeutic relationship, serving as a way of better understanding the relationships in your life and with yourself. I believe that the therapeutic relationship is the most significant agent of change.Â
At the heart of my practice is Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, which considers how early relationships can influence present life. I also incorporate Humanistic Psychotherapy, which emphasises what is happening in the 'here-and-now' to help make sense of your experiences.
I have extensive experience of working with people with depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, OCD, addiction, low self-esteem, and I have an interest in working with people that have experienced trauma. I am also dedicated to providing anti-oppressive, culturally sensitive, and ethical practice.Â
