Sally Counselling and Psychotherapy Online Sessions
About the Therapist
I spent nearly 20 years working in a third-sector organisation supporting people living with HIV and Hepatitis C, where I gained a deep understanding of how stigma impacts marginalised communities. This experience has profoundly shaped my approach to therapy—grounded in empathy, respect, and a commitment to providing a space where you can feel truly heard and understood.
My counselling experience includes working with students in further and higher education, as well as a diverse range of clients in private practice, including many LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent individuals.
Prior to that I worked as a paramedic, responding to emergency calls and comforting people in distress.
I believe every person is unique. I take time to understand your world, your emotions, and your relationships. I offer therapy that is attuned to your needs, whether you’re exploring your own journey or working through challenges in your relationship.

I initially trained in the Person-Centred approach, which values empathy, authenticity, and unconditional positive regard. More recently, I’ve integrated Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) into my practice—an evidence-based approach that supports couples in deepening emotional bonds and navigating complex relationship dynamics.
In all my work, I focus on understanding you and your partner(s) as individuals, truly hearing and validating your experiences. I believe meaningful change begins with appreciating your unique emotional world. Together, we can explore how past and present experiences shape your relationships, and how to foster deeper connection and understanding.
I’m also trained in creative therapeutic approaches—including art, writing, and other expressive methods—offering flexible ways to work that suit your preferences.
Whether you’re seeking support for relationship challenges, personal growth, or emotional connection, I’m here to support you in a way that feels right for you. My aim is to help you create lasting, positive change with compassion and care.
