Samuele (Sam) Russo (they/them)
About the Therapist
In a world stuck in binary oppositional forces, the work I do aims to offer a space for you to sit at the crossroads. The oblique approach of Sesame meets queer realities both pointing at a third space which native language is the open, not-interpretative image. Taking a step back from the literalised world of everyday life and one forward into the metaphorical of stories, myths and dreams can allow expansion of vision beyond the periphery of ego culture.
My approach is influenced by Jungian psychology. My core training in the Sesame approach to dramatherapy is grounded in soul-making – analytical/archetypal psychological perspectives. Trainings in Authentic Movement and in supervision (Re-Vision) reflect a mythopoetic approach to Psyche. You may wonder if the process is a linear one, indeed, it is not. As Jung suggests 'the way is not straight but appears to go round in circles' (Jung, CW12, para.34)

Sessions are usually 50 minutes long unless agreed otherwise. My fee is operated by a sliding scale to charge everyone the right amount.
This means that people who are in a financial positions to afford the top end of the scale will help others who are financially less privileged and yet equally in need of support.Â
An initial free 30-minute conversation can be arranged before the assessment process begins.
The initial period (also known as assessment) is carried out over a period of 6 sessions and will determine if we can work with each other. I hope our initial time will allow you to talk freely about what brought you to me, along with any goals you may wish to achieve. You will gain an idea about the way I work; you can check if you are comfortable with me and my approach and ask me anything that you need to know. I will take the time to explain my policy on confidentiality, fees, and cancellations.
