Sebastien Black (He
About the Therapist
I’m Sebastien (he/him), a therapist offering trauma-informed, integrative counselling and EMDR for adults in Bristol and online.
I specialise in working with people who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected — particularly when insight alone hasn’t been enough to create change. You might already have a strong awareness of your patterns, but still find yourself pulled back into the same emotional or relational loops.
I offer a space that is collaborative, grounded, and non-judgemental. My approach is relational and attuned, meaning we work together to understand what’s happening for you — not just cognitively, but emotionally and physically too.
Where helpful, I integrate EMDR to support deeper processing — helping your system shift patterns that can’t always be reached through talking alone.

I come to this work with a foundation in psychology (BSc Hons, University of Sussex) and a Level 5 Advanced Diploma in Integrative Humanistic Counselling & Psychotherapy (KRCS/NCP), alongside accredited EMDR training (EMDR - UK)
My approach is integrative, drawing from humanistic, relational, and trauma-informed models. This allows me to adapt our work to you — rather than fitting you into a fixed framework.
A key part of my work is EMDR, which can support the processing of difficult experiences that are still being held in the nervous system. This can help reduce the intensity of emotional reactions, shift long-standing patterns, and create space for new ways of thinking, feeling, and relating.
Alongside EMDR, I work relationally and at your pace, paying attention to what’s happening in the present as well as the underlying patterns that may have developed over time. This can include exploring attachment, identity, and the ways you relate to yourself and others.
The aim is not just insight, but meaningful and lasting change — helping you feel more grounded, more connected to yourself, and more able to respond to life with clarity and choice.
