About the Therapist
Prior to becoming a counsellor, I was a professional actor for many years. When I decided I wanted to train as a therapist, I enrolled at the Metanoia Institute in London, a well-respected college dedicated to the training of counsellors.
I chose to focus my training on the person-centred approach to therapy, which accords most closely with my own experience and philosophy. This approach provides a nurturing environment which will allow you to fully access your own powerful resources. I believe that working in this way will facilitate the development of greater self-awareness and provide you with the capacity to address your difficulties. It can open doors and make growth possible. As a person-centred counsellor, I will help you look at and work through the issues that are troubling you. I won't push or direct you: the person-centred approach is based on the belief that each of us has the ability to live our lives to our full potential. My aim will be to help unlock that potential within you.

I am a Senior Accredited member of the BACP and adhere to its Ethical Framework for Good Practice. I work with individuals, couples and supervisee's
For over 15 years I worked in the NHS as a trainer in mental health and communication skills - working alongside patients, doctors, psychiatrists and students.
Before training at the Metanoia Institute I was a buddy for the Terrence Higgins Trust (THT) for five years, working with people living with HIV/AIDS.
During my counselling training, I volunteered at Outcome, which is part of Islington MIND. I also had a placement at Antidote, which was London's only targeted lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender drug and alcohol service and is one of the services provided by London Friend.
I feel it is important to continue my own personal and professional development and I am in regular therapy, as well as supervision, essential for practising therapists.
I continue to work as a counsellor within the voluntary sector as well as in my own practice in Central and North London, and work with people in both the long and short term.
