Timothy Jinks
About the Therapist
Your counselling journey can feel tricky to navigate, especially when you don’t know where to start.
I'm Tim, a pluralistic counsellor based in Anstey, Leicester. I have been working as a counsellor since 2022 and I have been supporting people with their mental health since 2020.
I am bisexual, so I have first hand experience navigating the challenges of questioning and coming to terms with your sexuality. Although I am a cis man, I have ample experience working with people who have questioned their gender identity or have transitioned.
Whether you are questioning, coming to terms with, or struggling with subsequent challenges related to your sexuality or gender, or you are looking for an LGBTQIA+ safe counsellor to explore whatever your concerns may be, this could be that safe space for you.

Alongside my private practice; Tandem Counselling, I also have extensive experience working as a counsellor in various settings including universities, colleges, NHS organisations, mental health crisis services, a specialist self-harm organisation, and more.
I am a pluralistic counsellor. This means that I am trained in a variety of counselling styles. Together we can explore which route, or routes, would be the most effective for you.
A few types of counselling I am trained in include Psychodynamic, Person Centred, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Transactional Analysis, and Gestalt. If you are unfamiliar with these do not worry, we can discuss the differences over the phone or in an initial consultation.
I am a Registered Member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy).
I have an enhanced DBS Certificate which can be shown upon request.
